The Libraries Taskforce publish a newsletter for those who work in libraries. This single sheet will appear monthly, and is designed to be printed out and pinned to noticeboards - recognising that many of the people who work in libraries don’t spend their days at computers.
The newsletter contains 4 sections and generally covers:
- work done by the Taskforce to achieve its aims - including that done centrally by the Taskforce team based in Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), and work led by Taskforce partners
- updates on projects funded by DCMS’s Libraries: Opportunities for Everyone Innovation Fund, plus other funding opportunities
- examples which illustrate how delivery of the Society of Chief Librarians’ (SCL) Universal Offers are helping to achieve the 7 Outcomes described in Libraries Deliver
- news about particular initiatives and activities that potentially affect all staff - for example, in issue 1, we mention the new Public Library Skills Strategy produced by CILIP (the library and information association) and SCL
You can sign up to the mailing list to receive your copy each month via email using this google form. If the form doesn’t work for you, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with “Libraries Deliver newsletter” in the subject line. The only information we need is an email address and which local authority area you are in - to give us a picture of where we are reaching. Community managed libraries are also very welcome to sign up. We will not use the email address provided for any purpose other than sending out this newsletter.
We are always keen to receive contributions for the newsletter from library workers - either articles, or ideas about what you would like to see featured. Please email us at the address above with suggestions.
For more information on why we’ve started this newsletter please look at our blog.
