This publication is the statutory Levelling Up Missions annual report 2024 to 2025, fulfilling the legal requirement set out in section 3 of Part 1 of the Levelling-up and Regeneration Act 2023.
The report presents data and assessments on the 12 levelling up missions established by the previous administration, covering the period from January 2024 to January 2025.
While meeting these statutory reporting obligations, the report also explains that the current government has moved away from the levelling up agenda towards a new approach focused on 5 central missions: growth, clean energy, NHS improvement, safer streets, and breaking down barriers to opportunity.
The report also confirms the government’s intention to bring forward legislation to repeal Part 1 of the Levelling-up and Regeneration Act 2023.
