Details of the application

Leaderboard Golf Courses (Dale Hill) Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from a borehole into the Ashdown Formation aquifer at National Grid Reference TQ 70513 30028, at Dale Hill Hotel and Golf Course, Ticehurst, East Sussex.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 20 cubic metres an hour
  • 400 cubic metres a day
  • 49,000 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 March and 31 October inclusive in each year.

Water will be used for the purpose of filling a pond for subsequent spray irrigation of a golf course.
