Landlogical Thorney Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from Nene sands and gravels at TF 24792 03483.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 216 cubic metres an hour
  • 5,184 cubic metres a day
  • 1,892,160 cubic metres a year
  • Between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for mineral washing and industrial purpose.

Further details are: up to 1,800 cubic metres will be discharged per day into the North Level District Internal Drainage Board at TF 25527 03223. The proposed abstraction lies within the Nene Catchment and the Nene Catchment Abstraction Management Strategy reporting area.
