Notice given by the registrar under Schedule 2 to the Land Registration Rules 2003
Interpretation
1.In this notice “the Rules” means the Land Registration Rules 2003 (SI 2003/1417) as amended from time to time, and a reference to a rule by number is to the rule so numbered in the Rules.
Currency of notice
2.This Notice shall be current for the purposes of Schedule 2 to the Rules on and after 12 October 2020. It replaces on that date the Notice of 31 January 2019 in respect of ‘Request for costs under rule 202 by email’.
The delivery of requests for costs by email
3.Arrangements have been made for making a request for payment of costs pursuant to rule 202 of the Rules by email, subject to paragraphs 4 to 7 inclusive.
Who may deliver a request by email
4.Applications by email may be made only by a person who has incurred costs in relation to proceedings before the registrar.
General particulars and limitations for requests
5.Requests must be made to the email address, as listed in column 2 of the Schedule to this notice, for one of the Land Registry offices listed in column 1 of the Schedule.
6.Requests must be received at the email address referred to in paragraph 5 by 12 noon on the twentieth working day after the completion of the proceedings to which the request relates.
7.The request must include a written statement that:
(a) identifies the party against whom the order is sought and include an address where notice may be served on that party,
(b) states in full the grounds for the request,
(c) gives an address to which communications may be sent, and
(d) is signed by the person making the request or his conveyancer (this can be a typed signature).
