Land Management Farms Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Borrow Dyke, Mersea Island, Essex at National Grid Reference TM 04416 13285.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

Between September and March for one year only for the purpose of filling a boating lake.

  • 7 cubic metres an hour
  • 168 cubic metres a day
  • 33,220 cubic metres a year

All year abstraction for the purpose of maintaining the water level in the boating lake:

  • 8.3 cubic metres an hour
  • 100 cubic metres a day
  • 12,000 cubic metres a year
