Details of the application

Laing O’Rourke PLC has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from groundwater Chobham Bagshot Beds at Shepperton South Studios, Shepperton, National Grid References TQ 06118 68362, TQ 06192 68917, TQ 06724 68414 and TQ 06620 68197 to transfer it to the River Ash at National Grid Reference TQ 06476 68698 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 324 cubic metres an hour

  • 8,000 cubic metres a day

  • 1,500,000 cubic metres a year

  • between April and March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for dewatering a construction site.
