Lafarge Tarmac Trading Limited have applied to the Environment Agency for a licence .
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from Rookery Lake at Halecombe Quarry, Mells to transfer it to Soho Spring at National Grid Reference (NGR) ST 69581 48323 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 88.56 cubic metres an hour
- 354.24 cubic metres a day
- 129,298 cubic metres a year
- between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
The water will be used to augment the flow from the Soho Spring.
