K Martin & Son Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from two reaches south of East Heckington. One reach is located between National Grid Reference (NGR) TF 20585 43143 and TF 20282 42547 on Labour in Vain Drain and one reach is located between NGR TF 19667 42996 and TF 20429 42812 on unnamed drain.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 100 cubic metres an hour
  • 900 cubic metres a day
  • 46,000 cubic metres a year
  • At an instantaneous rate not exceeding 2.8 litres per second
  • between April and October inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for trickle irrigation
