Details of the application

Joseph Rochford Gardens Limited has applied to the Environment Agency to vary a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Upper Lee catchment.

The application is to vary a full licence to abstract water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 5 litres per second
  • 3 cubic metres an hour
  • 52 cubic metres a day
  • 11,128 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
  • at National Grid Reference (NGR) TL 28859 10659.
  • from abstraction location Borehole abstraction from Thames Groundwater at 1 Pipers End, Letty Green, Hertford

The water will be used for Trickle irrigation - Direct.
