John F Hunt Regeneration Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the Pennine Lower Coal Measures Formation aquifer at Phoenix 10 Walsall, between National Grid References: SO 99242 98211, SO 99399 98142, SO 99654 97499 and SO 99224 97528.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 50 cubic metres an hour
  • 500 cubic metres a day
  • 50,000 cubic metres a year
  • For 2 years, 4 months.

The water will be used for drill flush, grout, dewatering and dust suppression. Surplus water will be treated prior to discharge.
