This report covers the work done in 2025 by the Jet Zero Taskforce Greenhouse Gas Removal Task and Finish Group, a sub-group of the Jet Zero Taskforce.
Greenhouse gas removals (GGRs) are the process of actively capturing greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, from the atmosphere.
The report also explores how:
- to address the supply-demand gap
- the market to scale up GGR supply may be stimulated through an advanced market signal (AMS) to encourage investment
- enabling short term policy and fiscal frameworks might support GGRs supply and use
Although this group is affiliated with the Jet Zero Taskforce, the report is independent and does not reflect government policy. The report was drafted by the task and finish group, which was chaired by an industry representative and made up of representatives from across the aviation sector.
