  • TL 5275 7427

All 4 abstraction licences authorise abstraction for the purpose of filling reservoirs between November and March for subsequent direct spray irrigation or discharge and re-abstraction for spray irrigation between March/April and October. The applications do not involve any additional quantities of water above that already licensed and the abstractions will continue to be subject to appropriate restrictions to prevent abstraction during times of river low flows and levels.

The following variations to all licences are proposed:

  • extension to the period of abstraction to fill the reservoir(s) to all year
  • addition of new summer re-abstraction reaches within the area of the Southery and District, Burnt Fen, Mildenhall, Middle Fen and Mere and Padnal and Waterden Internal Drainage Districts

The following variations are also proposed:

  • application number NPS/WR/015246 licence AN/033/0046/007 increase in the discharge/re-abstraction season to include March
  • application number NPS/WR/015247 Schedule B which expires 31 March 2015 will be renewed to 31 March 2024
