Jason Kenway has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number 4/30/13/*S/0263 which authorises the abstraction of water from West Fen Catchwater Drain at TF 33977 59894 for the purpose of filling a reservoir for subsequent re-abstraction for the use of spray irrigation of crops.
The variation applied for is an all year licence at the following quantities:
- 75 cubic metres per hour
- 600 cubic metres per day
- 15,000 cubic metres per year
At an instantaneous rate not exceeding 20.8 litres per second.
Mr Kenway is currently licenced at the above quantities but from January to March only.
The proposed abstraction lies within the Witham Abstraction Licensing Strategy area.
