An application has been made to the Environment Agency by James Parrish. The Environment Agency are required to give notice of this application.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Roding at Abridge, Essex (National Grid Reference TQ 45316 96561).

The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates and periods:

  • 223 cubic metres an hour
  • 5,340 cubic metres a day and
  • 133,500 cubic metres a year

Between November and March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for filling a reservoir for subsequent spray irrigation. Any permitted abstraction would be conditional on minimum flows in line with the Roding, Beam, Ingrebourne & Mardyke Catchment Abstraction Management Strategy.
