James German has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.

The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Old Bedford including the Middle Level catchment.

The application is to vary a full licence to abstract water as follows:

  • at an instantaneous rate of 10 litres per second
  • 36 cubic metres an hour
  • 864 cubic metres a day
  • 1,845 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April to 30 September inclusive in each year
  • at National Grid Reference TL 34118 80188
  • from abstraction location unnamed drain at Rookery Farm, Pidley, Cambridgeshire.

The water will be used for wet fencing and nature conservation.
