J & J Burnett Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from three reaches of the River Witham near Bassingham, Lincoln between National Grid References SK 88428 56436 and SK 88545 57099, SK 89298 58720 and SK 90403 59335, and SK 91024 61105 and SK 91283 62516.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

50 cubic metres an hour

1,000 cubic metres a day

19,610 cubic metres a year
Between 1 April and 31 October inclusive in each year.
The water will be used for spray irrigation and trickle irrigation.
