J A Caton & Son has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number 6/33/53/*S/0515, which authorises the abstraction of surface water from the River Nene (Old course) and unknown drains in the Benwick, Ramsey First and Warboys Somersham and Pidley Internal Drainage Boards, Ramsey, Cambridgeshire, for the purpose of spray irrigation.

To increase the daily abstraction rate from 544 cubic metres per day to 1,600 cubic metres per day and the hourly abstraction rate from 54 cubic metres per hour to 133 cubic metres per hour. There will be no increase in annual quantities.
All water abstracted under this licence is discharged first from the star pit reservoir.
