The Environment Agency has received a new bespoke application for an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 from Sizewell C Limited.

Description of activity
Construct a Beach Landing Facility (BLF) and associated temporary security fencing within 16 metres of a sea defence (Environment Agency Asset ID No. 178292). The landward abutment and ten tubular steel piles in five pairs will be located within 16m of the sea defence. A removable deck will sit on top of the piles to support the marine import and offload of Abnormal Indivisible Loads (AIL) to the Main Construction Area (MCA) from the sea in order to reduce road and rail transport volumes.
