Individuals affected by personal data published on Home Office website in October 2013

1.A total of 707 notification letters have been sent by post to date.

2.To date, 25 individuals have been notified in person whilst a further individual has been notified by a letter sent to their legal representatives.

3.The data that was published between 15 and 28 October 2013 was a spreadsheet containing various column headers. Some columns were blank dependant on the stage of the family returns process an individual had reached.

Person ID – a specific identity number relating to an individual on Home Office systems.

Home Office Reference – a specific reference number relating to a lead applicant and dependants on Home Office systems.

Application/raised date –the date a case was first identified as a potential family returns case.

Full name – the full name of the lead applicant. No other family members were named.

Nationality – the nationality of the lead applicant.

Date of birth – this should have been the date of birth of the lead applicant, however due to a data anomaly, the data published does not correlate to the applicant.

Current age – current age of the lead applicant.

Latest case outcome – the last action relating to the case. This varies with each applicant: assisted return pursued, ensured return pursued, family removal not pursued, not a family with children or required return pursued.

Removal case type – this is dependant on what stage the case is at and varies with each applicant: AVRFC, Ensured return, Required return, Voluntary return or Voluntary departure.

Removal outcome – if the main applicant has been removed, this column details via what means: Deported, Embarked, Removal action not pursued, Removed (ETD/EU/Passport) or Voluntary departure.

Removal outcome date – date main applicant was removed if applicable.

Asylum application date –the date the lead applicant claimed asylum if applicable.

Asylum claimed - indicted with Y in the column if applicable.

Regions – the Home Office region dealing with the case, dependant on the applicants residential address.

Latest case ownership unit description – the last Home Office team to deal with this case.

Removed – to indicate whether the main applicant has been removed.

ARE – the appeal rights exhausted date

Completed conference event date – the date the Family Returns Conference (FRC) was completed, again left blank if this is not applicable

Event type – this details when the FRC was completed and the location: home, other, Immigration Removal Centre/Prison or Reporting Centre.

Failed conference event date – the date that an FRC was cancelled if applicable.

Event type – this details the reason an FRC was cancelled; conference abandoned – disruption, family wellbeing concerns, cancelled by UKBA, not at address or failed to show at designated place.

FD meeting date – date of Family Departure Meeting (FDM).

Event type – details whether self check-in removal directions were served at the FDM.

RP event date – the date the case was referred to the Independent Family Returns Panel (IFRP).

Event type – this states whether the case has been referred to the IFRP.
