Imports of heavyweight thermal paper originating in the Republic of Korea (Anti-Dumping Duty 2365)

The Commission has announced the initiation of an investigation, in the Official Journal ref. 2019/C342/05 dated 10 October 2019, concerning the dumping of heavyweight thermal paper, originating in the Republic of Korea.

Product description:

  • thermal paper which weighs more than 65 g/m²
  • sold on rolls of a width of 20 cm or more
  • weighing 50 kg or more (including paper)
  • with a diameter of 40 cm or more (jumbo rolls)
  • with or without base coat on one or both sides
  • coated with a thermo-sensitive substance, for example, a mixture of dye and developer that reacts and forms an image when heat is applied, on one or both sides
  • with or without topcoat

This investigation could result in anti-dumping duty being imposed at a future date.

The investigation takes effect from 10 October 2019.

Interested parties wishing to make submission or requests to be heard, within the short timescales, should refer to the Commission’s notice, for instructions.

Interested parties may request in writing, within 4 months of the publication of this notice, information on the imposition of provisional measures.

Provisional measures may be imposed no later than 8 months from the publication date.

The Commission will provide information on planned provisional duties 3 weeks before their imposition.

This investigation will be concluded no later than 14 months from the publication date.
