Imports of certain tubes and pipes of ductile cast iron from India (Anti-Dumping Duty 2344)

Following the re-opening of the investigation in order to carry out the court judgements in cases T-300/16 and T-301/16, the Commission announced in Regulation 2019/1250, that imports of tubes and pipes of ductile cast iron (also known as spheroidal graphite cast iron), originating in India and produced by Jindal Saw Ltd (Taric additional code C054) will be subject to registration.

Tubes and pipes of ductile cast iron without internal and external coating (‘bare pipes’) are excluded from these measures.

This regulation takes effect on 24 July 2019.

The Registration of these imports will continue for 9 months.

The products are currently classified within the following commodity codes:

  • 7303 0010 10
  • 7303 0090 10

The rates of anti-dumping and countervailing duties that may be applied retrospectively (from 20 June 2019 to the date of entry into force of the results from the investigation), will not exceed 14.1% and 8.7% respectively.

Customs authorities must wait for the resulting regulation, re-imposing the duties before deciding on claims for repayment and remission of anti-dumping and countervailing duties concerning Jindal Saw Ltd.

Customs authorities should await the outcome of this investigation before considering any repayment claims concerning imports from Jindal Saw Ltd (additional code C054).
