Imports of certain continuous filament glass fibre products, originating in Bahrain and Egypt (Anti-Dumping Duty 2334)

The Commission announced an investigation in the Official Journal ref. 2019/C151/05 dated 3 May 2019, concerning the following goods originating in Bahrain and Egypt:

  • imports of chopped glass fibre strands, of a length of not more than 50mm (‘chopped strands’)
  • glass fibre rovings (rovings)
  • mats made of glass fibre filaments (‘mats’)

For information only, these goods currently fall within Taric codes:

  • 7019 1100 00
  • 7019 1200 22
  • 7019 1200 25
  • 7019 1200 26
  • 7019 1200 39
  • 7019 3100 00

The following products are excluded from the scope of the investigation:

  • glass fibre rovings’ which are impregnated and coated and have a loss on ignition of more than 3%, as determined by the ISO Standard 1887
  • mats of glass wool

Interested parties should make themselves known to the Commission within the time limits, see announcement for details.

This investigation and any measures imposed will be subject to the amended rules for Trade Remedies as detailed in Regulation (EU) 2018/825.

The investigation will conclude within 14 months.

Provisional duty may be imposed, normally between 7 and 8 months from the start of the investigation.
