Impact of UK climate change risk on the delivery of education

In response to an independent assessment, the Department for Education (DfE) has reviewed how climate change risk could impact education delivery.

Details

The adaptation committee’s independent assessment of UK climate risk sets out the priority climate change risks and opportunities for the UK.

The committee identified 3 key climate change risks as being likely to have an impact on education. These were:

  • overheating
  • flooding
  • water scarcity

In response, DfE has carried out an initial assessment of those risks. We made a commitment to understand such risks in our sustainability and climate change strategy.
