Details

The Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) is progressing a new contract for its competence assessment service. Assessments are currently paused while the new arrangements are being implemented. To support these changes, new syllabuses have been published, which all future assessments will be based on.

Applicants who have submitted an application to become an immigration adviser must sit tests to demonstrate their competence to the Immigration Advice Authority.

The level 2 immigration syllabus covers these topics:

• immigration law
• asylum and protection
• human rights and humanitarian protection
• nationality
• appeals
• detention and bail
• welfare and support
• ethics
• essential skills and abilities
