Imerys Minerals Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from within the area at the following National Grid References – SY 88958 89809, SY 89032 89790, SY 88997 89671 and SY 88945 89678, at Trigon Quarry, to transfer it to a tributary of the River Piddle at National Grid Reference SY 89212 89334 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 60 cubic metres an hour
- 1,440 cubic metres a day
- 49,000 cubic metres a year
- between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.
The purpose of the abstraction is a transfer of water for the dewatering of a quarry site.
