Decision of the Charity Commission published on 4 October 2013.
The Commission reviewed its decision not to register the Human Dignity Trust as a charity. The organisation operates in the field of human rights, particularly in clarifying the law in countries where homosexuality is a criminal offence.
The commission maintained that the purposes of the organisation were not exclusively charitable in law, and that as its purpose is directed towards changing the law it cannot meet the public benefit requirement for a charity.
