The Environment Agency has received an application to vary an environmental permit under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 involving substantial change to a permit from Mitsubishi Chemical UK Limited.

This is a substantial variation to the installation to introduce a second Soarnol production line (SLL2) capable of producing 18,000 tonnes per year of ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH), which will be located adjacent to the existing Soarnol production line (SLL1). It will also allow operation of a new thermal oxidiser.
