Hot-rolled flat products of iron, non-alloy or other steel from Turkey (anti-dumping duty 2401)

Initiating an anti-dumping investigation on imports of certain hot-rolled flat products of iron, non-alloy or other steel, originating in Turkey.

The Commission has announced in Official Journal ref. C166 dated 14 May 2020, the initiation of an anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of certain hot-rolled flat products of iron, non-alloy steel or other alloy steel, originating in Turkey.

Products concerned

Products under investigation are:

  • flat-rolled products of iron, non-alloy steel or other alloy steel
  • whether or not in coils
  • including products cut-to-length and ‘narrow strip’
  • not further worked than hot-rolled
  • not clad, plated or coated

Products excluded

The following products are excluded:

  • products of stainless steel and excluding grain-oriented silicon electrical steel
  • products of tool steel and high speed steel
  • products, not in coils, without patterns in relief, of a thickness exceeding 10mm and of a width of 600 mm or more and
  • products, not in coils, without patterns in relief, of a thickness of 4.75 mm or more but not exceeding 10mm and of a width of 2050 mm or more

Interested parties wishing to make submissions to or request a hearing from the Commission only have a short timeframe in which to do so, refer to the official Journal C166 for details.

The Commission also draws the attention of the parties to a Notice published in the Official Journal on 16 March 2020 on the potential consequences of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak on anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations.

This investigation will conclude within 14 months. Provisional anti-dumping duty could be imposed, where appropriate no later than 8 months from the start of the investigation.

The Commission will provide three weeks prior notice whether or not provisional duties are to be imposed.
