In addition to the allocations set out above, we have allocated a total of £16,037.50 to Wales in funding for eligible minors who were placed in local authority care as a result of a sponsorship breakdown or safeguarding concern, and where eligible minors became care leavers after leaving a care arrangement, in line with published guidance.

Tariff allocations in Wales are all paid at fiscal events rather than quarterly. These amounts will be paid from DLUHC to the Welsh Government later this financial year, who will distribute funding to councils.

The Welsh Government will receive payments with regard to the Devolved Government Sponsorship route, and will apportion this to councils as appropriate once guests move out of welcome centre accommodation.

Funding for thank you payments is provided quarterly in arrears using the financial assistance power (s.50/51) of the UK Internal Market Act.

The number of thank you payments may be less than the number of sponsoring households due to delays in authorities making thank you payments, or sponsors not accepting thank you payments.

One Welsh Local Authority was not included in the Quarter 2 funding allocations as a data return was not received in time to process.

The data in this publication will not match the weekly data published on the Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme. This is because the data are collected over a different period of time, and this data is returned directly by local authorities whereas the Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme data is management information from operational systems.
