We have a received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following:
- How many civil servants at the department’s London offices (excluding agencies) were on strike on June 30;
- What proportion of the overall workforce this represents;
- How many civil servants (using the same criteria) were not on strike on June 30.
We released the following information on 18 July 2011.
Records held on the Home Office’s HR information system as at 6 July indicate that 169 staff working in Home Office Headquarters were on strike on 30 June 2011. This represents six percent of the total Home Office HQ workforce of 2788. The majority of Home Office HQ staff, 2316 out of the total 2788, are based in London.
