Request required number of communications staff, total staff and gender breakdown of staff employed in the Home Office.

We have received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following: 

1) How many communications staff does the department employ?
 
2) How many people are employed by the department overall?
 
3) How many men and how many women does the department employ?

We released the following information on 1 February 2013.

1) HQ Communications Directorate Headcount (HC) = 135

(Data includes all civil servants, paid and unpaid, working in the Communications Directorate within the Home Office Headquarters. Not all individuals working within the Communications Directorate perform Communications roles - additionally there may be other individuals working in Communications roles within other directorates within the Home Office but it is not possible to identify them separately)
