Details

This pay evidence from Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) will be considered by the independent Prison Service Pay Review Body who will then make recommendations to be considered by government in due course.

HMPPS evidence and pay proposals for this year are driven by the government’s public sector pay policy. This was announced by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in November 2020 who set out that pay awards for the 2021 to 2022 year will be restrained and targeted, while ensuring an increase for lower earning staff who need it most.

The evidence covers all prison officers, operational support grades and operational managers in Fair and Sustainable (F&S) and closed grades.
