We have received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following:
For the 08/09 financial year on how many occasions was a private plane hired to facilitate the deportation of people who had been denied asylum in the UK?
We released the following information on 24/03/2010
There were 67 charter flights during the financial year 2008-09.
Please note that charter flights are generally a mix of refused asylum seekers being removed as a result of deportation action, administrative removals and voluntary departures. We do not charter planes separately for those being removed a result of deportation action and for those being removed as a result of administrative action.
