The government is committed to supporting the development of the skills needed by an advanced economy by working with employers to widen access to access to higher apprenticeships and other skills solutions. Further to this commitment UKCES conducted a review of STEM skills.
The review identifies those occupations which have a strong requirement for high level STEM skills, examines the labour market need associated with them, and considers priorities for the future development of work-based provision, including higher apprenticeships.
The findings of the review are presented in a summary document and a more detailed evidence report.
