H.H. & D.E. Drew Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from the Headon Beds overlain by Plateau Gravels at Downton Manor Farm Quarry from an area delineated by National Grid References SZ 27115 93459, SZ 27515 93393, SZ 27804 92751 and SZ 27535 92701. The abstracted water will be transferred into a restoration lake at Downton Manor Farm Quarry at National Grid reference SZ 27580 93330 without intervening use. Any excess waters will be discharged to Blackbush Stream at National Grid Reference SZ 27910 92910 and is subject to the conditions set out in the Environmental Permit reference EPR/AP3523KT.
The application is to abstract water all year as follows:
- 23.4 cubic metres an hour
- 560 cubic metres a day
- 204,400 cubic metres a year
Abstraction will take place for the purpose of dewatering.
