This circular provides details of the provisions contained in The Housing Benefit (Amendment) Regulations 2013 that were laid before Parliament on 21 March 2013.
The Housing Benefit (Amendment) Regulations 2013 make amendments to the Housing Benefit Regulations 2006 and the Housing Benefit (Persons who have attained the qualifying age for state pension credit) Regulations 2006 to allow for an extra bedroom for a foster child or children of an approved foster carer (or kinship carer in Scotland) and to ensure that the parents of armed forces personnel who are away from home on operations will continue to have them included when applying the size criteria.
