Hanson Quarry Products Europe Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.
The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Bristol Avon and Little Avon catchment.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water as follows:
- at an instantaneous rate of 29.5 litres per second
- 106 cubic metres an hour
- 1,161 cubic metres a day
- 268,404 cubic metres a year
- between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year
- at National Grid References ST 72840 47966, ST 72907 47849, ST 72977 47891, and ST 72358 48112
- from abstraction location Underground strata comprising limestone at Whatley Quarry, Frome.
The water will be used for Mineral washing, Dust suppression, and Vehicle washing.
