Hanson Quarry Products Europe Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 28/39/11/0021/R01 which authorises the abstraction of water from Stone Acres Lake between National Grid References SP 41691 03930 and SP 41900 03835 at Stone Acres Lake, Linch Hill, Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire.

The variation applied for is to:

  • Reduce the abstraction quantity for the purpose of Mineral washing from 719,400 cubic metres per year to 665,280 cubic metres per year.
  • Add a new purpose of Conveying materials to include additional abstraction quantities of: 918,720 cubic metres per year, 3,340 cubic metres per day, 417.60 cubic metres per hour at a instantaneous rate not exceeding 116.00 litres per second.
  • Amend the point of abstraction from a single point, National Grid Reference SP 41691 03930 to a reach in the lagoon between National Grid References SP 41655 03928 and SP 41900 03835.
