Hampshire County Council has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 8 of The Water Abstraction (Transitional Provisions) Regulations 2017.
The Environment Agency has received the following abstraction licence application within the Loddon catchment.
The application is for a licence to abstract (take) water from Broad Oak stream at National Grid Reference (NGR) SU 75504 52017 to transfer it to Basingstoke canal at NGR SU 75504 52017 without intervening use.
Abstraction will take place all year when sufficient water is available to maintain level and flow of the Basingstoke canal. This is a historic transfer of water from the Broad Oak stream to the Basingstoke canal.
