Hail Weston Farms Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Kym, Southwest of Little Paxton, Cambridgeshire at National Grid Reference TL 17554 61864. The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 100 cubic metres an hour
- 2,400 cubic metres a day
- 110,000 cubic metres a year
- At an instantaneous rate not exceeding 28 litres per second
- Between November and March inclusive in each year.
The water will be abstracted via a pump to fill a winter storage reservoir for subsequent trickle irrigation.
