H2O Power Generation Ltd: applications made to impound water

H2O Power Generation Ltd has applied to the Environment Agency for two licences.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of these applications, in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The first application is for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of the Manchester Ship Canal at Mode Wheel Locks at National Grid Reference SJ 79835 97443.
The second application is for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of the Manchester Ship Canal at Irlam Locks at National Grid Reference SJ 72895 94077.
In each case water will be obstructed or impeded to facilitate the use of water at a new hydropower scheme.
