H N Butler Farms Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from Meon Springs Fly Fishery lake (Meon Beat) at National Grid Reference SU 64989 21781 to transfer it to the Whitewool Stream at SU 64930 22094 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 6,443 cubic metres a day
  • 937,961 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.

Water will be abstracted to maintain flow through a new wetland area.
