H Barker & Son has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from a reach on Swinefleet Warping Drain between National Grid References SE 75933 18093 to SE 76046 18369.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 100 cubic metres an hour
  • 1,500 cubic metres a day
  • 60,000 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 30 September inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for the purpose of spray irrigation. The proposed abstraction lies within the Don and Rother Catchment Abstraction Management Strategy reporting area.
