Details

MOD response to a Freedom of Information request dated 26 September 2013 for the casualty figures for Gurkha’s since the end of the World War 2 to 30th September 2013. This was also to include those that:

  • have become ill or developed chronic illnesses and disabilities from military service
  • have been medically discharged from British Army/Brigade of Gurkha’s
  • have been awarded or received war pension’s disability benefits and or/compensation
  • have been killed in the line of duty
  • families have been awarded or received War Pension’s Death benefits and/or compensation for their Gurkha relative killed in the line of duty
  • families have been awarded or recieved the Queen Elizabeth Cross medal for their Gurkha relative killed in the line of duty
