The guidance sets out how driving examiners carry out the following types of driving tests:

  • car
  • motorcycle
  • car and trailer
  • lorry
  • bus or coach
  • taxi

It also sets out:

  • general guidance on carrying out their job (eg what to do in bad weather)
  • incident and legal procedures (eg what to do if the driving test vehicle is involved in an incident)
  • how the Data Protection Act affects their role
