GRS Earth Solutions Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

This application is for a licence to abstract water from a quarry void comprising of a sand and gravel aquifer at Passenham Quarry, within the areas of the following National Grid References (NGRs): SP 77056 39342, SP 77608 39068, SP 77476 38464, SP 76620 38936 and SP 77923 39150, SP 78300 39048, SP 77923 38746, SP 77732 38888 to transfer it to River Great Ouse at NGRs SP 77414 39009 and SP 77925 39152 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 761 cubic metres an hour
  • 7606 cubic metres a day
  • 2,025,868 cubic metres a year
  • 211 litres per second – instantaneous rate
