The quality of the air impacts upon health and the environment.

The air quality impacts of any proposed policy, programme or project need to be understood and accounted for in appraisal.

This supplementary Green Book guidance should be used in conjunction with the Green Book when assessing proposals that lead to changes in UK air pollution.
