This strategy document is aimed at the members of the Government Social Research (GSR) profession and other stakeholders interested in social research.

It sets a clear direction for how the profession will develop over the next 5 years, the context for our work as well as our priorities and the actions we will take to get there.

It builds on the previous strategy developed in 2011, but with an emphasis on 5 key objectives which are aligned to the Civil Service Competency Framework:

  • seeing the bigger picture
  • delivering results
  • collaborating and partnering
  • building capability for all
  • leading and communication
