Details

The Government Estate Nature Plan sets out a new, coordinated approach to restoring nature across government land in England.

It brings departments together to plan and act at a whole‑estate scale, embedding nature recovery alongside operational delivery and strengthening the resilience of public services.

The plan applies Land Use Framework principles to government land, demonstrating how land can be managed to deliver multiple benefits, including:

  • nature recovery
  • climate resilience
  • public value

It also provides a practical framework for delivery, building on existing activity and supporting wider environmental targets.
